Poster Art Q & A

Description

Few would be comfortable in Lee Conklin's vision of the conventional parlor. The artist managed to make the nurturing female form menacing, and the neatly framed 'pictures' featuring the performing artists belied the energy of the concert. Tongue in cheek, the light show artists were printed on the shade of the 'standing' lamp.

The postcard was printed once before the concert. It measures 4 9/16" x 7".

There were also some pre-concert double-sized mailers printed that were conjoined with the BG162 image (see BG162/163). They measure 7" x 9 1/4".

Promoters often created postcard versions of many of their concert posters and used them as promotional mailings. The postcards in Wolfgang's Vault are unique, small-format pieces of art that make a fascinating addition to any collection.
