Photography Q & A

Description

The Walk of Fame has been a Shoreline claim to fame since the early days of the Mountain View, CA amphitheatre. To wander the Walk, which winds in the outdoor area behind the stage, is to amble down a memory lane of outstanding performers like Jimmy Buffett, Prince and REM. Portrait photographs of these and many other artists, mounted on particle board and exposed to the weather, line the Walk and present themselves to the elements and visitors with the same confidence and unvarnished honesty of the artists in performance.

Wolfgang's Vault's collection of Walk of Fame photographs are the authentic, sometimes sun-faded originals and bear proudly the slight scratchmarks, defects and wear from their years on display in this outdoor fan gallery.

Our Vintage Prints date from 1990 or earlier, and many of them were produced within one year of the original negative. Each print in Wolfgang's Vault is a slice-of-life view of the rock concert phenomenon taken by legendary photographers who did more than document the era, they lived it. The subtle signs of aging in some of these prints only add to their veracity. The slight yellowing of a Silver Gelatin print and almost imperceptible loss of true color in color prints are the gentle patina born of age that help make these in-concert shots, portraits and backstage candids of early rockers and their milieu so outstanding.
