Poster Art Q & A

Description

Wes Wilson returned to the Graham stable for two more posters, BG150 and BG151. Both of them faces, BG151 was Wilson's characterization of Bill Graham, "... rich and smug like an antique Roman merchant." Needless to say, BG151 was the artist's last poster for the Fillmore.

The postcard was only printed once before the concert. It measures 4 5/8" x 7".

There were also some pre-concert mailers printed that were conjoined with the BG150 image. They measure 7" x 9 3/16".

Promoters often created postcard versions of many of their concert posters and used them as promotional mailings. The postcards in Wolfgang's Vault are unique, small-format pieces of art that make a fascinating addition to any collection.
