Description

Nudie Cohn, pictured on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine No. 36, was tailor to the celebrities. His signature suits were covered with rhinestones and appliques, often with distinctive themes. His suit for Gram Parsons featured cannabis leaves, pill bottles, and naked women. For Elvis he designed and produced a $10,000 gold lame suit. Nudie himself was an accomplished mandolin player and even released an album of country hits on which he is accompanied by some of country music's most famous musicians. -Baron Wolman
