Description

The Fillmore East crowd on New Year's Eve, 1969 paid Jimi Hendrix and his Band of Gypsies the ultimate compliment: they were silent, awestruck by his performance. Playing as if all the social and personal chaos of the late sixties was ripped from his being and raced through his fingers to explode from his guitar, the performance was a cry from the heart of the man, by turn angry, introspective and tumultuous. Recorded live, this concert was to be Hendrix's requiem, for by October, the incredibly talented artist, never truly comfortable with his fame, was dead.

Our Premium Vintage Prints came directly from the archives of 5 of the top rock ‘n' roll photographers in the industry. These outstanding prints are a window into the lifestyle of the time in which they were taken, down to the very paper and process. Most of these prints were created within a few years of the negatives dating as early as 1959. The print varieties represented range from the rarest-of-rare Dye Transfers, to Silver Gelatin, to everyday RC.
