Poster Art Q & A

Description

Jimi Hendrix had been scheduled to play at the De Doelen in Rotterdam on September 13, but he had cancelled the show because he had no new bass player. Gerry Stickells had telephoned Noel Redding in New York to see if he could step in at the last moment and take over on bass for the rest of the tour. Noel agreed but for some reason never actually arrived in London. Ric Grech, formerly of Family and Blind Faith, was also under consideration to fill the gap on bass guitar. In any event the remaining concerts in Paris and Vienna, and an appearance at the Pop and Blues Festival at Grugahallen in Essen, also had to be cancelled. Hendrix was found dead 5 days after this cancelled show.

Wolfgang's Vault owns one of the world's largest collections of original concert posters, featuring hundreds of rock posters, political posters, sports posters, comedy posters and others that were previously unavailable to the general public. Virtually all of our concert posters are in mint condition, and many are signed by the headline performer or the graphic artist.
