Description

June 5, 1971 and the door to the East Coast rock mecca was about to slam shut. Bill Graham brought old friends and new to play the hallowed hall one last time and Frank Zappa, perhaps at his most witty in the mid to late 60s, was back with The Mothers to make a final statement. Freaky, bizarre and recorded live, this second edition of The Mothers of Invention featured former Turtles Flo and Eddie and ran the gamut of Zappa's repertoire from the explicit lyrics of "Bwana Dik" to an abbreviated "Little House I Used to Live In". The best was saved for last when John Lennon and Yoko Ono joined Zappa in the final set, leaving the crowd delighted and delirious.

Much like theatrical playbills, programs have been used at concerts since the 1900s. With information on bands and their members, it gives the concertgoer a chance to get to know the musicians they have paid money to see. The Vault's exceptional collection of programs range over four decades from venues around the world.
