Poster Art Q & A

Description

B.B. King got his first standing ovation at the Fillmore. He loved those audiences because they participated, and they let one know in no uncertain terms when the music pleased them. The John H. Meyers figures are reminiscent of Abe Hirschfield drawings.

The postcard was printed once before the concert and measures 4 3/4" x 7 1/2".

There were also some pre-concert double-sized mailers printed that were conjoined with the BG051 image (see BG051/052). They measure 9 5/8" x 7 11/16".

Promoters often created postcard versions of many of their concert posters and used them as promotional mailings. The postcards in Wolfgang's Vault are unique, small-format pieces of art that make a fascinating addition to any collection.
