i've looked around, and the guitarist is either 'Gypie' Mayo or Henry McCullough. Henry was only in the band temporarily, but he did join after Wilko left in April 1977.
all things considered, this is a great concert. 5 out of 5.

@Dreja - it's funny you should bring that up. the venue and date come from what's written on the tapes in our archives: 4/10/77. I remember seeing this show listed in various places as April 10th and October 4th...that is, whether you read 4/10 as an American or not. Without definitive proof one way or the other, we went with the American version - April 10th.

Hope that helps with the explanation. If anyone knows for certain which is correct, we'd love to get some confirmation. Thanks all!

This might be the first Gypie Mayo performance with the band live... If the date is correct...

Old Johnny Green, he asked me in. We watched his tv and we drank a little gin. Now I'm walkin' down the street, smilin' at the people that I meet. That was back this mornin', now I'm dizzy, sick and stoned. When the world stops turnin'... then I'm going back home. Love those lyrics and the song. Missed Wilko on this one though. After he left, it wasn't quite the same. The first band I ever heard live and I still love 'em now.

This perfect blues rock band influenced a good deal of the so called progressive(prog) music movement in Sweden.

Doctor Feelgood were a mainstay of the often ignored London Pub rock scene of the early seventies, in itself a catalyst for the punk explosion that was to follow. More than that though, they were a great rock and roll band. The Wilko Johnson line-up was my favorite, although his replacement 'Gypie' Mayo had his moments. Ironic that the song that broke up the original line-up, "Lucky Seven" is included here. Great show though.
