Concert Summary

This is an amazing Dire Straits set from its acclaimed 1985, Brothers In Arms tour, and the second of three shows taped that year for the King Biscuit Flower Hour radio concert series. Led by guitarist / vocalist / songwriter Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits was probably at its best live configuration ever for this memorable tour. Saw them in 85 at CalExpo in Sacramento. 21/4 hours of pure music and Money for Nothing was not the highlight.

Way back in 1985 a friend handed me a cassette and said it was a rare Dire Straits concert in Houston. He told me to not to lose it. I had it for at least 13 years or so and then it got lost in a move. I was crushed. Thank you all for saving all this music. As soon as we get the bux I'll buy it. Thanks again!

Ahh! Nirvana! I've had this show on cassette tape since the night I recorded it off the radio. This stuff never gets old. Great show from start to finish. Songs really flow seemlessly right through Why Worry, which is almost an intermission before they pick it up again all the way through the encores. Wild West End is absolutely incredible, but there isn't a dog in this kennel. Listen from start to finish like we did the night it aired live.
