The signed deck is backed with Singer's BG216 ("The Mushroom Man") design, has a unique image on each of the 52 cards, plus 2 different Joker cards. Each image is signed by the artist of that artwork, so there are 54 original artist signatures (55 actual signatures because Alton Kelley signed both his Memorial poster image on the 10 of Diamonds, as well as signed with Stanley Mouse on the King of Diamonds, which has the FD026 poster image).
The signed card sets (54 participating signatories, and 55 total signatures) were produced to benefit David Singer (described below, as printed on the card insert).
The David Singer Project:
"David Singer is widely considered to be one of the greatest artists in the field of Rock and Roll art. He began his endeavor in 1968 when he approached the legendary promoter Bill Graham about doing art for his renowned Fillmore poster series. He ended up doing over 75 pieces, which is more than any other artist in the series. Throughout the years, and still active today, he has done numerous other posters, albm covers, prints, design projects, etc… Besides being a respected artist, he is one fine human being and a true gentleman.
In 2006, David was struck by illness that left him in coma for many months. Out of work for more than a year, numerous artist and performers have stepped up to help out one of their own in a time of need. This project, The David Singer Project, is for him."
