Concert Summary

Upon hearing this recording nearly a decade after it was made, David Crosby remarked: "I remember that it was a very good show. That was a very good band. The way I remember it, we were very good almost all the time on that tour."

The tour from which this King Biscuit Flower Hour was recorded had been assembled to promote Crosby's second solo album, Yes I Can, which had just been released on A&M Records at the time. While he has always remained a member of Crosby, Stills, Nash and (sometimes) Young, Crosby…entire summary

I saw Crosby and Nash last fall at the Keswick outside Philly and it was terrific. His son was in his band and both of the old guys were in good voice. Pleasantly surprised as I hadn't seen them in years.

David Crosby is a classic, one of the great voices in 20th century music. IMHO he is the voice of a generation, not to mention CSN. He can do rock, blues, country(Bakersfield style), jazz and some of the best ballads these ears have ever heard. The depth and richness of his tone can weave a story that takes you on a mental trip for a moment and then slows down to bring you back to reality. I will probably take some flack for saying he's the "voice" of CSN, but when Crosby is "on", he's the real deal! Genuine American icon, for sure...

wow. Gradey, he was'nt clean on this show? I just finished reading "Long Time Gone". was this one of those shows where all his friends and lovers were amazed at how he pulled off the brilliance when he was so wasted? I lost the time line....holy shit. what a great show for a wasted cat. man, either way, David prevailed. RiverBear

David was clean and fresh out of jail. Craving a CSNY reunion, I hoped this might be it. Neil always said he would do it if David could straighten up. It didn't happen (the reunion or the sobriety), but it was a great show. I was amazed at how wonderful he still sounded. To top it off we got tickets outside for $5 each (imagine that today).
