Concert Summary

David Bowie's 1987 "Glass Spider" tour has long had a love/hate relationship with both his fans and music critics; there seemed to be no middle ground - either you loved the show, or you hated it. It was an important tour for a number of reasons, but stands apart from all other Bowie treks because it featured his old friend, Peter Frampton, on guitar. Frampton, who had fallen from selling out stadiums after Frampton Comes Alive in 1977 to playing clubs just prior to…entire summary

Saw this show. Brought back so many memories. Was so caught up in the spectacle of it all that I didnt realize until listening to this concert how extraordinary this show was. The band is so hot and of course Bowie is right on! One of my favorite Bowie shows I have seen!

I never got to see this show, but have to say that from the audio evidence Bowie is on top of his game vocally, here. Have seen the DVD and thought it a bit overblown as a spectacle, but musically this is top stuff, a great listening experience with great musicianship and song arrangements too. It's a 5 from me!

Wife & I cought the Glass Spiders show in Lexinton, Kentucky at Rupp Arena.
David is a favorite of ours, and Frampton was on guitar as a bonus - good stuff!!!

Caught this tour in Detroit. It's a big stadium show, so I don't buy any criticism that is was overblown. It was a big show chock full o hits and deeper cuts. Stadium rock theater! My ONLY criticism is that at one point bowie was wearing a red outfit that, with his hairstyle, made him look like Nancy Reagan.
