as the story goes just as the bus was leaving for the 1st date of the tour, bowie and srv parted so he never played on any of the shows on this tour, the only thing that i'm aware of that emerged was bootlegs from los colinas as they're called, the pre tour rehearsals, they're good but to be honest stevie ray doesn't exactly stand out and i guess he would have just been another musician in bowie's backing band, maybe it was a correct move not to go on the tour and build his own reputation

That's cool I didn't know Stevie played live with Bowie. I thought he just did the album (yes, kids they were called "albums" in those days ;>). I wish they had early Bowie, say 1973 with Mick Ronson. Ronson was great, but never really got the recongition he deserved IMHO. Bowie always has great tastes in guitarists - Stevie Ray, Ronson, Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Carlos Alomar, etc, etc.

2nd show I ever saw. BC place in Vancouver with the Tubes. Amazing and incredible show. Bowie's stage presence was beyond belief. Band was tight...sound was suspect...luckily we had general floor admission and didn't have to endure the upper echo chamber!
