Thanks again to The Vault for bringing stuff you just can't get anywhere. I was a big fan and saw him a couple of times growing up in Berkeley. Great concert, great sound for the Fillmore but I kinda miss the vocal stylings and harmonies of The Lickettes from the Hot Licks days. This performance would be an album to rival "Where's The Money" (highly recommended) if it were available.

This is a great show, great sound quality too. This is the earliest Dan Hicks I've ever heard, only having been introduced to his music in the last couple years. THis show sounds not unlike his current repetoire. I love it! He definitely is one of the many "why didn't they make it bigger?" musicians!

Ah Dan Hicks....I learned to swing dance to this man's records....seriously talented, another one of the "why didn't they make it bigger?" when some real lack talents made a fortune and the cover of the Rolling Stone.....Just goes to show you, some of the most talented ...erm ....shudda big bigger..*takes foot out of mouth, and limps away*

There's something hypnotic about Dan, his lyrics and downbeat. You can't help but tap your feet, rock your head, and smile. All the best to Dan cause he's still making great music.
