Concert Summary

From the first public Mime Troupe events in 1965 to his untimely death in 1991, Bill Graham set the standard for excellence in concert presentations and in doing so, redefined the art of communication for an entire generation. To honor Bill Graham, Steve Kahn and Melissa Gold, the BGP staff organized a free concert in Golden Gate Park for Sunday, November 3. Mother Nature cooperated and provided a comfortable and cloudless…entire summary

theres no doubt they are off again on again sound wise only time i saw them in boston about 10 years ago it was a disappointment but listen to their box set to appreciate the breadth of music theyve produced together ,solo and in different incarnations.Neil of course is in a class of his own.Remember that when they started being out of tune was part of the game prior to electric instrument tuners, sober roadies & backing vocals on tape.

Wonderful to hear Wooden Ships again

I agree with some of the other comments, and will likely inflame the fans who believe they can't do any wrong, but I've never heard a concert recording of theirs that was any good. Not good vocally in a live situation. Perhaps too many drugs and 'free love'.

Garbs here, My first CSNY show was Cleveland Stadium 1974. My life has never been the same. Enthusiastic crowds and a sense of " family" always have excited me during ALL my CSN & sometimes Y concert experiences. Wonderful seeing parents bringing their kids. So many memorable singalongs and incredible high energy guitar jams ( Neil) one of the hardest rocking musicans in history. When i think about it, i can't believe how many c.s.n.y. songs i know and LOVE to sing... Amazing that these guys are still touring... Last time i saw the band was 2006, in Portland OR brought me to tears they played and played and PLAYED ! Nice tribute to all the soldiers and Neil ROCKED EXTREMELY hard... On the other hand it's kinda sad that they are now, 2009, playing the State Fair gigs... Hope someday to meet these fine human beings and share heart & spirit and tell them how much i love em.. Rock on FOREVER..!!!!

CS&N are Neil Young's "backup"? Are you joking jjsaye ? Please tell me you are. Did Jimi Hendrix ask Neil Young to join the Jimi Hendrix Experience? I think not, he asked Stills. Neil Young is amazing, don't get me wrong, but Stephen Stills was a better musician and guitar player hands down. Don't forget Nash and Crosby either! Crosby is also an amazing writer.

How can you give C S N Y shit? I have seen them 10 times. Some times they are together vocally....sometimes not. Their music is still very HOT....Classic music that still rings true today. Neil Young played with them at Woodstock....did you know that?

Yeah this is bad, but like Derek hitting 200, they've got money in the bank. Funny thing is cs&n, after all this time still don't realize that what they really are is young's backups.

I love their music but when they do live they can not carry a tune in a bucket. I still love them but I am amazed at how pour they are in concert.

"Clapton is God!" they wrote on the walls on the late 60?s. What?s about these guys ? Musical harmony at it?s best. There is no room to talk about quality or any kind of value. CSN&Y a high tower in music history, on the same level as for example Stones, Led Zep. or Pink Floyd. Isn?t it the Croz to be a member in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame ? Wonderful, really wonderful music - thanks for that !
