  • Chief J. Strongbow Tuesday, January 24, 2012 5:28 pm Neil's great as usual. The other three are useless. What did he see in them?
  • mike1969 Saturday, January 07, 2012 6:09 pm Ever see the 1974 4 hour concert in color of CSNY at Wembley Stadium...Now that is something to analyze This video too me is fantastic Tonight's the Night 1973 is happening on this tape right in front of ya. And yes they all get uptight from time to time. Rock stars do.

  • Anonymous Thursday, November 24, 2011 5:17 am a shame really. these guys had some magic when they were 'on'. I am sure some pristine perfomances exist, but this isn't one of them. the harmonies are off, the 'vibe' is - as mentioned below - distant (?), and it all seems a little forced. Maybe I am over thinking since it does have a nice 'raw' quality to it and not every performance is perfect but I think this isn't the best that these guys could do.
  • spergs Thursday, November 17, 2011 3:35 pm Do we really need an inverted image of David Crosby? Seeing him from the inside out is enough to scare the B-Jesus out of you.
  • Michael Howell Thursday, October 27, 2011 7:37 am Nash was so coked up and terrible here.
  • Anonymous Friday, October 07, 2011 5:23 am By 1973 the counterculture had become so diluted that it was spiritually over. Poseurs, parasites, commercialism, white powder drugs and exhaustion all contributed to an overall malaise and this was exemplified in this performance. Stills detached, faraway look, Nash's coked up, controlling actions, no acknowledgement of Young's great piano work and Crosby's by-the-numbers performance; it wasn't about connecting with or speaking for the people. Group dynamics had dissolved and while they had finally come to realize that the sum was greater than the parts, it was just four individuals who still couldn’t get it together.
  • Anonymous Saturday, August 20, 2011 1:39 am Oh, by the way people, this was 1973. If you were there you would know that many folks knew that a long time was already gone.
  • Anonymous Saturday, August 20, 2011 1:37 am Love the tune. But asking David what's going on is sadly funny and funnily sad.
  • Raymond from Vancouver, HK, Trieste and Paris Friday, August 19, 2011 2:22 pm How can you be more paradoxicaly brilliant than Neil Young here? Great stuff!
  • Anonymous Wednesday, August 03, 2011 6:06 am Re"Roll Another Number For The Road": I've tried for years to transcend, but I just don't get Neil Young lyrically, or vocally. no insult to Young fans, but wtf? I mean when these guys are on, they soar, but seriously, WTF? Neil Young recorded HARVEST and that was it for me. Nothing before or since. I wish him well.
  • IF NOT FOR YOU Sunday, June 26, 2011 12:32 am Now & then this concert is pretty bad, but Nash does keep giving apologies & says they have not been together to practice & just all met at Winterland for this concert. Considering the above this is an amazing concert. Of course Neil could do a concert by himself & went on to do so.
  • IF NOT FOR YOU Saturday, June 25, 2011 11:15 pm By this video it seems all the stories about Nash & his controling type A personality are true. Can't help, but notice his jealousy of Young. An amazing group of type A's. Stills does seem to be a little "Not There."
  • Peter Van Kan Friday, June 24, 2011 10:27 am Pretty bad now and then.
  • mikeglueck Monday, May 30, 2011 4:25 pm you know neil's playin the tonight's the night piano during long time gone - fuckin brilliant - did they recognize? - maybe - stills says - come play guitar neil .... brilliant
  • Anonymous Monday, May 16, 2011 11:09 pm Jeez, Stills isn't even playing in the right key during his "picking", and I use the term loosely.
