About

Cracker

At ten years old, Cracker worried fans with the retrospective album "Garage d'Or" in 2002: was this their swan-song? Thank goodness, the answer was "no", and this folk-blues-rock band with a fan base ranging from 15 and 16 year-olds to 60 year-old Boomers plans to keep writing and playing its category-defying mix. David Lowery, guitarist Johnny Hickman, bassist Bob Rupe and drummer Johnny Hott play a roots-rock sound that's given them the opportunity to open for both the Grateful Dead and the Ramones. Since their breakthrough album "Kerosene Hat" in 1993, Cracker has combined classic rhythms, folksongs, hillbilly and surfer songs to continually produce their unique sound.
