Each spring the music world descends upon Austin, Texas for the annual South by Southwest Festival, an amazing week of music madness. In 2011 nearly 40,000 people attended to catch performances from what seemed like an equal number bands at every possible location and hour of the day or night.

Wolfgang’s Vault is right in the middle of it, recording some of these amazing performances that take place there. With our partners at Crawdaddy, Daytrotter and Paste Magazine we follow the incredible range of creativity that hits Austin each year. The performances we’ve recorded at SXSW range from power pop to singer-songwriters and everything in between. The collection is a great snapshot of what’s emerging on the music scene each year; jump in, watch and/or listen - if you close your eyes you’ll feel that Texas heat, unrelenting dust and throngs of people that make South by Southwest what it is.

In 2011 we recorded dozens of performances from some great new artists including Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., John Vanderslice, Sondre Lerche, Trampled by Turtles, and many more. We'll be posting audio and video from these later this year, so stay tuned!
