Great American Music Hall

The Great American Music Hall is San Francisco's oldest nightclub establishment. When doors opened in 1907, it was an architectural marvel and a symbol of optimism for the city. Throughout its long history, the venue has had many names, and has seen many changes to its physical condition. The building nearly fell to fire and neglect in the 1940s before being restored to it's former glory in 1972 and named the Great American Music Hall.

During the 1970s and 1980s the club hosted a remarkable run of live performances from many of the top jazz, blues and folk artist in the world. Performers such as Stephane Grappelli, John Fahey, Carmen McRae, Steve Goodman, Eubie Blake, Sarah Vaughan and more all made their mark on the hall's stage.

Now, for the first time these remarkable performances can be heard at Wolfgang's Vault. Listen to the legacy.
