This show, recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour in Vaals, Holland during Christmas week of 1983, presents the band at a time when they had just changed labels from Polydor to Jive, and when they were making a conscious effort to be more radio friendly, especially in America.

Yes, one of the best bands you never heard of...though, the material you have recorded is probably their weakest. This band single-handedly bridged the gap between post-punk and alternative rock as we know it today. Just listen to their debut LP "Waiting for a Miracle" touted by Trouser Press as the single best debut LP of all time. Then the follow-up LP Sleep No More was the LP that defined Alternative rock. The 3rd LP "After the Rain" was an effort towards more accessible melodies and just as strong. Then in 1987, "Chasing Shadows" was a perfect return to form. "Mind's Eye" and "Glamour" extending into the 80's are another pair of excellent quality LP's that other bands only dream of delivering. They are currently planning a reunion gig in April 2009 in Sheffield, UK. A rare chance to see one of the best bands still alive and in tact. Don't miss it.
