Concert Summary

The concept was pretty simple: take the horn-driven sound of bands like Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears and Tower of Power, and enhance it with a hot rhythm section and a female vocalist who could wail. On paper, it reads like a blueprint for massive success, yet unfortunately Cold Blood's main achievement might be the fact that they were among the most underrated and unappreciated bands in modern music.

Spearheaded by the sassy, 4'9" blues belter…entire summary

of all people, my father introduced me to cold blood. he said his friend's son was in a band. had i ever heard of them? my brother and myself each got albums signed by larry fields. first thing you noticed was who's that singer. its janis with a voice. and then you get hooked on the sound. WOW!!!! saw them again at the fillmore in the late 90's with country joe & it's a beautiful day. they kicked ass on everybody that night. even chet helms was front and center grooving to them. they still had it.even with a trimmed down horn section they tore the house down. and she's still betling it out like no other. how can someone that tiny have such a voice with that much soul. AND she brought her daughter to sing a song. what a treat to see that performance. WHEWW!!!! if anybody else saw them thet night please respond. and again what over the top show antics?? they were just damn great.

very cool! someone told me many years ago that lydia was dead. i guess they were full of it. i'm sure glad to read that she's still around. in the '70's thriller was one of my favorite albums. geese, i think that was the '70's. anyway, i still play that sucker every now and then. my friends today usually have no idea who it is. these folks should be and should have been at the top if everyone's list. great to hear this show. wow, what a band!!! peace, jim
