Concert Summary

Climax Blues Band was a great little boogie machine whose best years were in the mid-1970s while they were on Sire Records, the future home of Talking Heads. In fact, it was the overwhelming success of the Heads, and other New York alternative bands signed by Sire, that many feel caused the label to lose interest in their more mainstream artists such as Climax Blues Band.

But between 1973 and 1977, Climax Blues Band had a fair amount of success in both the U.S. and Europe, especially on AOR FM playlists. This show opens with "All The Time In The World," and includes a rockin' remake…entire summary

so to the guy who was at the paramount in seattle...did you ever hit the eagles auditorium and catch magic fern, daily flash , crome syrcus, yardbirds et al. That was the venue although i did catch miles davis at the paramount it was too much like some east coast rock concert hall where they insisted you had to have arranged seating like a movie theatre. but seattle was the place for great bands back then before even SF got rolling like the the Wailers, Jimmy Hannah, Kingsmen , Don and the Good Times and the Ventures ..and yes the viceroys but then the action was at the legendary spanish castle and pat oday at KJR made or broke groups in his strangle hold on seattle musich

To AZSQUID - Renaissance wasn't at this show; they warmed up Climax.. at another Capitol show, probably later the same year (maybe the blotter acid clouded your memory slightly, lol). But it seemed like I was at the Capitol every other week during these years - would love to hear more shows from that wonderful place!

OK, I saw these guys 5 years in a row in junior high and high school in Seattle. The Moore Theater and Paramount Northwest. During their peak years from Rich Man through Gold Plated. The best concert years of my life. I'll never forget it. It was long before TicketMaster and anything called online. To get a good seat we'd skip school and get in line that morning. Wait all day so we could be lean against the stage and slap hands Derek Holt and Peter Haycock. Man those were the days. You know what I'm talking about Rayolay and Riddler.

Unfortunately, my computer couldn't open this concert... :-( I'm sure it's a great show though, based on the several times I saw this great band Live in the mid-seventies. Peter Haycock's lead guitar prowess and talent never ceased to amaze me, and thankfully we can again enjoy this amazing player's artistry as he is now back on the road with his new band, Pete Haycock's True Blues (featuring Glen Turner, another great player)! If you liked the days of Pete Haycock playing with along with the guitarists the like of Wishbone Ash, then you'll love the grooves that he's putting down with his new bandmate Glen Turner! Check out the new Live CD, info can be found at the RMI Sound website -- you'll absolutely love it...

I was once in a band and we had friends that played at this bar called HAPPY'S around the corner from the capitol theater in passaic,N.J, the ushers from there were regulars at the bar so we got "free" entrance to many shows that were there!!!! always front three or four rows seating!!!
