Concert Summary

Clearly a fan of rock 'n' roll and R&B, Clarence Clemons had a solid solo project for many years while playing as a member of the E Street Band. By bringing on old friend J.T. Bowen to handle duties on lead vocals, Clemons was able to assemble the Red Bank Rockers - mainly on the strength of his celebrity status as one of Springsteen's musical sidekicks.

Clemons' collaboration with the Red Band Rockers picks up right where the E Street Band left off. Introduced for this show by DJ Randy Kahn of WYSP-FM in Philadelphia, the crowd is jubilant - not only because they're about to see a…entire summary

Re: your notes above - specifically "DJ Randy Kahn of WYST-FM" - I believe the call letters were WYSP-FM. I respectfully request that the error be corrected. Many thanks for all the great work you all at Wolfgang's do.

Remember hearing this concert on the radio way back when. Used to go to Clarenc'es club down in Red Bank, NJ to see them play often. Sorry they split and never got a chance to hear JT Bowen again after his brief stint as Johnny & The Rockers when Clarence went off with Bruce for the BUSA tour. Good to hear them again.

This is the later iteration of the Red Bank Rockers. Mixed monitors for the earlier version of the band. Had a full horn section, Harvey Brooks from Electric Flag on Bass and a totally smoking drummer Joe xxxx can't remember his last name. Always wore a Yankee's jacket and was a total nut case, but God could he play. Would love to hear a show from that era.
