Arguably the biggest rising star of 1980, Christopher Cross' talent for crafting smoothly sophisticated ballads virtually defined soft melodic pop music during the early years of that decade. Between 1980 and 1983, Cross would score eight Top 40 singles as well as an unprecedented five Grammys (including "Best New Artist" and "Song Of The Year") in 1981.
Recorded at James Madison University in February of 1981 and presented in its entirety for the first time ever, this concert captures Cross performing many of the songs that made his self-titled debut such a monstrous success. A pair of rarities ("Too Soon To Tell" and "Tomorrow Dies") are also included, in addition to early arrangements of material destined for his sophomore album. In terms of adult contemporary radio, it was songs like these that dominated during the early 1980s and that fueled Christopher Cross' meteoric rise to the top of the charts.
