saw these 2 in san diego in the early 80's. all white audience for the most part. junior mad. kept walking off stage. tryin' to talk buddy into splittin'. buddy havin' a great nite leaning his ears & body right into his large amp & flowin' with the waterfall of powerful chords. an amazing & entertaining display of what the blues is about. this gig things go south. buddy has to tinkle tinkle. amp fuckin up. last nite. junior large & deep. the bass player's amp workin' fine. another pull me push me blues concert from 2 of the greatest musicians & entertainers. as REAL as it gets. i dig real. it's like being there. the opposite of 'perfect' dog & pony show. great listenin.' sloy

Nice to hear the horn section doesn't overpower Buddy's incandescent guitar playing, vocals and Junior's vamps on harmonica.
    Great live mix !

I was at the Mountain Winery last night (8/21/2010) to see B.B. King and Buddy Guy. Buddy Guy stole the show for me. I know the late S.R.V. paid homeage to Buddy, now I know why. S.R.V. in the early 80's opened a new world to me...the blues. Buddy, now at 74 years of age was singing, playing and displaying such amazing showmanship. Keep on...

buddy and junior were the ultimate blues team i ever witnessed-jr wells is not only top level harp player but one of the finest soulful blues singers who made you feel the deep pain that the great ones channel through their instrument or voice--buddy "mother fkg" guy what can you say other than he still is a good looking senior aging like fine wine and playing like a mucisians musician--ck out their last show together in chicago which is all acoustic live recording -a reunion in which the ability of these two to improvise and be generous obviously b/c of mutual and recipricol respect--i always looked forward to their new york shows and a harpist myself was much saddened when junior left us-but thanks for this recorded legacy

Saw both Buddy & Jr. many times, never together, sadly. Was playing @ the King Eddy in Calgary,AB. the night Jr. died, did everything of his I could think of to honor one of the baddest cats ever.
