Concert Summary

New York's intimate Bottom Line was a perfect place for Bryan Ferry to bring his first solo tour to the U.S. The legendary supper club was small enough for Ferry to interact with the audience, but prestigious enough to be used as a launching pad for the rest of the tour. This recording is from the late show and is a powerful performance despite the fact that the 11-piece band had just completed a grueling show less than 90 minutes prior.

Excellent recording! Bryan Ferry is super cool, as always. Here he gets lots of help from a strong lineup. Great stuff.

this guys is the only vocalist in the world that sings like this, you gotta love him! starting out with rocking 12 bar blues took me by surprise: loved it! who was that guitar on the end of "In Your Mind"? it certainly wasn't "in the room"! Mel's solo in casanova was wonderful. The "In Crowd" was outasite...Chris & Phil tore it up! "Ha, ha, ha Hard Rain" killed me: what an arrangment!all in all, a great time!

Roxy Music at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. Red leather suit ingrained in my memory. VERY cool!

Never mind going to gigs. I think you should stay at home and learn how to write. That was positively shameful!
