Concert Summary

Get comfortable, 'cuz all the stories are true - the E Street Band came to play, and they're not gonna stop until the roof caves in! This is powerful rock 'n' roll revivalism and Springsteen makes the heat rain down upon the assembled Winterland parishioners.

Years before punk deconstructed popular music as a violent protest against the bloated rock 'n' roll dinosaurs staggering from stadium to stadium, Bruce Springsteen was earnestly providing his own alternative to bone-headed riffing and cowbell solos,…entire summary

If i went to this concert in '78 when i was three, would I still love this band and their energy? The answer: definitely yes!! Man, I can't wait for November 22 Buffalo.

I think this one is fantastic. Of course, I think just about everything Bruce Springsteen does is fantastic!

Oh silly people, as good as this show and the 8/9/1978 Cleveland Agora shows are, most of the shows from 1978 are this good. It was a band of professionals who had played together for years, and, more importantly, they played A LOT. By my count in the 227 days between May 19, 1978 and January 1, 1979 they played 119 concerts. If you exclude the month of October where they only played 3 nights of the 31, they played 116 of 196 days. Now that's a lot for any band, but how many bands play over 3 hours every night?

First time I saw Bruce was in 1974...all the guys on my dorm room floor were from up east....Boston,New Jersey, Philly...all they could talk about was Bruce Springsteen....who was he? Saw Bruce over Winter break, in 1974 and the rest is history. I have never missed a Bruce show since then. Just saw him 2 days ago in St Louis, and I walk away amazed everytime. How does he do it? 1 2 3 4 ... pure magic!

Cn't wait to see Bruce and the Band Nov. 18 in Nashville. It had been 34 years since I saw him with 2500 fans in Knoxville. He was amazing then, Music City Fan

I think that if larryc2321 likes Miley Cyrus then he should never comment about Bruce Springsteen. Take the talking stick away.

This was probably the first bootleg record I ever purchased. I found it in San Francisco. I couldn't believe it! I was transported emotionally. The power and emotion of Bruce's voice was otherworldly like he had the whole history of American rock and roll in it. I still think this is one of the best recordings of Bruce's live work way before his Born In The USA days and ensuing international fame. Listen to Mona. Classic R N R.
