Anyone remember when Boz would carry his guitar into Lions' Share with an overcoat on, sit around the bar and just happen to get called up on stage? Yeah, something like that. Good man. Loan Me A Dime broke some ground. And Lido took it home!!

I was lucky enough to attend a number of these Paramount performances including New Year's Dec74 (with Syreta Wright), Dec76 (also feat. Les Dudek), but this first one was special because it was the start. Steve Miller also made encore appearances at these shows in 1974 and 1975, though he did not add much to the evening except a small onstage reunion. Hearing "I'll Be Long Gone" orchestrated for the first time live in person made it worth the ticket price by itself.

Slims was a restaurant, but that was secondary to its real function as a great music venue.
