Concert Summary

In 1975, guitarist/ songwriter/ inventor/ electrical engineer Tom Scholz, with a master's degree from MIT, was working by day at Polaroid. By night, he was recording feverishly with his own rock band, Boston, that also consisted of fellow Bostonians Brad Delp on vocals, Barry Goudreau on guitar, Fran Sheehan on bass, and John "Sib" Hashain on drums.

With Scholz at the helm, they spent most of 1975 writing an album's worth of songs that would eventually transform itself into one of the most successful debut albums by a rock band in history. Those demos, with virtually little overdubs…entire summary

wow what can i say this almost matches the more expansive list from the famous Long Beach arena Dont Look Back tour live recording circulating for years but much better sound of course thanks again Wolfgang vault.Too young to catch original tours but caught opening nite of the record breaking Worcester Centrum run in 88 which was flawless.Met Goodreau & Delp at Bostomn music awards same year & down to earth as they come youd never know they had the fastest selling debut in 1976 (what a summer of music that was).

I remember the Cincinnati stop on this tour when I was 16. What a guitarfest. I had just bought a used black Les Paul Custom a month or so before the album came out. I've never been the same since. I'm still playing Boston licks on that Les Paul through my Scholz Rock Man.

Rockin`! Saw them in 1977 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I was 17 at the time. Lots of party memories thanks to the boys of Boston. Too bad we had to wait so long between album releases. They simply outdid themselves for the get go.

Anonymous, in your eagerness to tell the world that you can correct my typo's you didn't spell "their" properly when you said "there products" .....pity!

So cool to hear Boston tracks that haven't been played to death. I gave my Boston (debut) CD away because I was so tired of it on the radio.

Several friends of mine worked for Tom Scholz at SRD in the early 80's and we were frequently rewarded with tix to any band that was in town that used there products. The line up of bands at that time was endless, and having tix and back stage passes from SRD was pretty cool. We got to meet alot of high profile rockers who were all very nice to a couple of nobodys. None of them however was as nice a gentleman as Brad Delp. He was as humble as they come, he just wanted to please everyone. Several years later I had the chance to see Beatlejuice at some local high school auditoriums. He would play these shows regularly and donate proceedes to the school music programs. He would always come down to the front of the stage to meet and greet his fans after each show to talk about music, Boston, The Beatles anything. He was truly a sweet and kind man,one that the world seldom sees. Thanks for all the memories.

This is just too cool for words. I saw Boston around this time at the Hartford Civic Center and it totally blew my mind. At the time it was my second big venue concert and the first that was focused on THE MUSIC (my very first show was Kiss and that was more about production than music). I saw someone comment that they were "pinned to their seats". That is a very good description of how I reacted as well. I think my mouth was dropped open too. The guitars are outstanding. I don't even know how to describe the way Brad's vocals made/make me feel. He was a unique voice and we all miss him. Interesting that no one here has mentioned Boston's recent shows with other vocalists. Have not heard any of their work but saw news about it on their web site. I am always open minded but it seems like Mr Delp may be irreplaceable. Thanks for the outstanding work Brad and RIP.

Tom Schultz?! A pity your eagerness to tell the world you are "a writer", and what's more, "in a band", did not extend to getting his name right!
