Concert Summary

In 1975, guitarist/ songwriter/ inventor/ electrical engineer Tom Scholz, with a master's degree from MIT, was working by day at Polaroid. By night, he was recording feverishly with his own rock band, Boston, that also consisted of fellow Bostonians Brad Delp on vocals, Barry Goudreau on guitar, Fran Sheehan on bass, and John "Sib" Hashain on drums.

With Scholz at the helm, they spent most of 1975 writing an album's worth of songs that would eventually transform itself into one of the most successful debut albums by a rock band in history. Those demos, with virtually little overdubs…entire summary

It's too bad Tom Scholz is such a scrotum. This band could have gone much farther.

Yeah! I was at that Philly show and saw that guy fall. I never heard any thing about it either. Him or whoever he fell on must have gotten hurt bad , that's a long drop! It was my 2nd show ever and it was fantastic!

A little more of a studio band than a live band...but the first album was on of the all time best albums of ALL time.

I was at this show!!! James Gang (sans Joe Walsh) opened up, then Boston and finally Foghat. The weird thing is that a guy jumped way up high off the rafters of the Spectrum (probably to his death) in the middle of the James Gang show and landed in the crowd. There was nothing in the papers or on TV at the time...very weird, but I saw it. Does anyone know what happened?

When they dropped us off where Fred's Mom gave us a ride to the house, it was pretty weird making conversation, but she was cool. We mainly talked about the great band we heard on tape in our friend's car...

Hitchin' to Fred's hometown in '76 or '77. Picked up by a bunch of shit-faced scary lookin' dudes who were just like US! Far out, smoked to Smokin', had a few beers, 1st time we heard Boston. Amazing - we were ALL grinning ear-to-ear. I'm now a 55 yr old lady (will be in in Oct, anyway.) Kept a great job for the last 27 years where u gotta act sraight, & still think & dress like a cross between old hippie n biker chick. Even @ work, within reason. Turning 40 in '96, finally understood "I'm an adult now!!!???" for 1st time.
Chose not to have kids to have this lifestyle. Only miss the Grandkids. One can always adopt. Love the Music!

Great show! My initial reaction when I started listening was "what's the point of a Boston show with such lousy sound"? Then I realized I wasn't logged in and was listening at 96kb! I'll be downloading this one.

Great show! Saw them headline for my friend Bill Graham at a Day on the Green in 1979. Hagar and someone else opened but Boston stole the show. It rained that day. I miss those Bay Area shows.
