I remember seeing Ms. Raitt perform on many occasions at the now-defunct Main Point in Bryn Mawr, PA in the '70s, as well as at the Ambler campus of Temple University. She was then, and remains today, a flawless interpreter of the Blues and one of the best slide players I've ever seen. I had the pleasure of meeting her several years ago when she was awarded the Harvard Arts Medal during their annual Arts First festival. She played and sang for us and literally brought me to tears. She is genius and I am honored and humbled in her presence. See her live when you get the opportunity - I guarantee you, you won't regret it.
