Concert Summary

Before Bonnie Raitt walked out of the 1991 Grammy Awards with an arm full of trophies, she was a singer/songwriter trying to keep her music alive with a yearly ritual of a new tour and a new album. Although in 1979, her big commercial breakthrough was still a dozen years away, Raitt was well on her way to blending raw blues, R&B and rock into a decidedly more adult contemporary style.

When this show was recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour in 1979, Raitt was on the road promoting a new album on Warner Brothers…entire summary

It's hard to believe it was 30 years ago that Bonnie did this performance. She really showed off her potential as well as her proficiency. And what a great band she had! She even throws in some ANTI-NUKE cheerleading for good measure. Bonnie, You really rock(ed)!!

Bonnie and Dave Edmunds both did fine versions of Three Time Loser. It'd be fun to her them perform it as a duo.

That voice of Bonnie Raitt was at its peak in the late 70's, powerful she could hit a note and go places with it, the band its tight, she travels around to many periods and places, check out "I thank you", "Hunk of love" to "You're good thing" , a great concert. Years and Years have gone bye but that voice of Bonnie's has grown so fine, she still commands the stage where ever she goes and this old bottle of wine tastes fine any ol time! just love bonnie raitt Happy 60(11/09) kid!

Yeah. I have been a Bonnie Raitt fan for nearly 30 years and I am blown away by her genius at this age. It's amazing that she wasn't a major commercial success before "Nick". I think she was eclectic in way that was misunderstood at the time at least by Warners -- much in the same way that Aretha was at Columbia. Great singing and playing. Can't wait to see what she does next.

This is one of the greatest shows i have ever listened to....and that's pretty much all there is to it.....just incredible quality, an incredible mix of instruments, and what a voice. Bonnie Raitt at her very very best. No kidding... :)
