I was also there that day . Hot! My ears were blistered by the sun. There were two other bands as well, Santana and The Outlaws if memory serves me. We were in center-left field bleachers a long way from the stage, but the P.A. kicked ass and we didn’t miss a note. Sadly, just months before the Skynyrd plane crash. We drove down the coast from southern Oregon to see the show. Frampton is an incredible, gifted and underrated guitarist. Check out his new stuff.

I was there too! Thanks for the memories. I can’t wait to show my kids what their Mom was doing in 1977! Just saw him again the other night in Santa Rosa Calif. with the same friend I went to this concert with, he’s still top on my list. The new music is as great as the old and he’s still as adorable as ever!

Fantastic !!! It’s so nice to remember those years … I’ve had the opportunity to saw a PF’s concert in Brazil (maybe 1980, I don’t remember exactly …) and it was a great show too. Thank you, Bob Mayo, Stanley Sheldon, John Siomos and Peter Frampton, you’re still “coming alive” … forever !

I was there too! My first Frampton concert but not the last! We met the nicest couple from Alabama who asked us to watch their picnic basket and never came back…we ate good that day! Was sooooo bummed that PF had to cancel his concert in Albuquerque this month..I’m gonna frame the tickets for what could’a been, sigh..do you feel like I do?

The video is of ‘Baby, I Love Your Way’ not ‘Show Me The Way’ as indicated.

Darn it the only DOTG I went to was Peter Frampton but it was 1976–Any chance that might be broadcast too at some point? What are the chances of seeing more of those old DOTGs?

Much of your information on Lynyrd Skynyrd at “Day on the Green” is not correct. Discussing Bob Burns & Ed King leaving the band, you incorrectly say Bob Burns was the bass player when he was actually the drummer. You also state he left durning the “Nuthin’ Fancy” tour, which is also incorrect, as he left after the “Second Helping” tour, prior to the recording of “Nuthin’ Fancy” (Artimus Pyle replaced him and plays on “Nuthin’ Fancy” as well as toured as part of the band for this album). You also state that Al Kooper was ousted as producer for “Gimme Back My Bullets”, another wrong fact. Al Kooper was given the boot after “Nuthin’ Fancy”; Tom Dowd produced “Gimme Back My Bullets”. Lastly, you incorrectly state that “Street Survivors” was the third album with Steve Gaines on guitar. “Street Survivors” was the second album with Steve Gaines, the first being the live album “One More From The Road”. “Street Survivors” was the first studio album with Steve Gaines on guitar. I am appauld at the inaccuracies in the write up of Lynyrd Skynyrd! Wolfgang’s Vault is usuall pretty accurate. Please correct this wrong info!

I was there too, if you look hard enough, you’ll see me in the crowd. I was 17 at the time. I saw all the great bands at Day-on-the-green. We need all the Concerts from that time to come out, and we all know it can be Done, thanks.

Unreal! I can’t believe this show was captured on film. I was also in the crowd and thought that my memories would be all that I ever had to relive this awesome show. I remember being about 10 rows back when that girl caught the tambourine. I also remember being blown away when Frampton got on the drums. I wish I could buy this video.

I wish Alabama Public Television would bring it here. How do I get in touch with them to ask. I just saw Frampton Saturday night in Orange Beach at The Wharf. He was great. He sounded just as good as he did 30 years ago when I last saw him 1979, and 1977 (what a good year for me too). Steve Miller Band on the other hand was a dud. Jet Airliner was strong but went downhill with their new stuff from there.

I would love to know if any other Day on the Green concerts were filmed. I have many fond memories of those years…and a lack thereof. Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, AC/DC, and so many more. I look forward to checking this out.

Was suppose to go to this gig, when my older brother who had my ticket decided to give it to another brother at the last minute. But did see an old friend (Susan) clear as day in the front, during when Frampton was singing to her. Saw Zeppelin a few weeks later at the 7-23-77 concert, as well as many more Say On The Greens to follow.

What great memories that seem like it was yesterday when the “magic” was the essence of all the fantastic concerts (not shows) that Bill Graham always put on, through out the S.F. Bay Area. Nobody rocked more, than all of us that attended…cheers!

Mark, the link for Show Me the Way is above the Baby, I Love Your Way video. It is just audio though but excellent just the same.

Love the Skynyrd videos. Anyway to release the entire Skynyrd concert 7/3/77 from Oakland on dvd or cd. I would love to hear it again since I was there. I know 2 songs are released but hoping the entire show can be put on wolfgangs. Thanks so much.
