On January 12 we closed the Concert Vault Forums. Since we introduced comments on individual concerts the Forums have received less and less attention from you, our visitors, and from us as well. As George Harrison said, “All Things Must Pass” — it’s that time for our Forums.
We believe we can serve you better by focusing our resources on better ways to connect you with the music and with your fellow listeners. Thanks to those of you who made substantial contributions to the Forums over the years. Cheers!

Well… now that the forums are gone, we need a place to post this request… Please make an app for Android like your iPhone app!!!!!
Thanks Todd. The best way to let us know about requests like that is through our Contact Us page. We’ve gotten several requests for an Android app – stay tuned :-)
I m terrbily sorry to hear that. Will this forum come again?
How out of sync with the times… I thought this was the age of transparency?! Oh, I get it, you’re keeping in step with Obama and his lies… Fuckin awesome WV, fuckin awesome.
Jessy, we have no plans to re-open the forums. But we do plan to expand the ability for listeners to exchange comments and follow other listeners in for all Vault concerts and performers, which we think will be a better experience.
Lars, if I could understand how this makes us less transparent, or makes us liars, I would reply to your comment. Feel free to elaborate.
What does >embed< do? Embeds track where and how is it used?
John, embed tags allow you to embed a single track player for the song you select into your own web or blog page. Here’s an example – James Taylor at Carnegie Hall.
I just wanted to say, great job Forum people. I admire the way yall have handled individual guests and commentators on this webpage.
I am appaled that we now have to pay nearly $50 to get 192kbps streaming… I am going to stop using this service now, it is just rediculous for shows that people can get for free at live music legal torrent sites… you used to be great when it was 192kbps streaming, but 96kbps isn’t good enough and you guys know it… I thought it was all about getting people to hear these great concerts originally, not you guys becoming interested in big commerce!.
And I did not mean that commen to be inflammatory, its just I am so annoyed that to recieve 192kbps your basically holding us all to ransom… thats a lot of money for me and I would love to become a WVIP member… but I simple can’t afford it, yet I also would like to listen to these recordings in decent fidelity. Can’t you at least make it higher than 96kbps, or 96kbps in AAC or something, so we’re getting ‘nearly’ cd quality. A lot of the concerts are bad quality recordings to begin with compared to studio releases, so having them in such low bitrate makes them even worse.
I am actually shocked by this whole WVIP thing…
Ben, we are sorry if we have disappointed you – that is certainly not our goal. But covering our costs is essential to continue offering the shows that we do on our site, and we think that WVIP is a very reasonable way to approach that – it pays for itself immediately with the $50 store credit it includes, and can be even more valuable with the deep discounts we offer to WVIP members on downloads.
Unlike the sites you reference, we actually pay performers and song publishers every time someone listens to a track at the vault. In addition, every concert at the vault has been archived by us, from tape to the web – not an inexpensive effort. It’s more appropriate to compare us to other music websites – Pandora, Napster, Rhapsody and lala for example – all of whom require some form of subscription.
All that said, we do recognize that many people like have no interest in downloads or merchandise – you may just want to listen to music online at our site. We are always looking into better ways to meet your interests while meeting our needs – stay tuned :-)
I have a collection of good quality concerts recorded from the radio that you might be interested in? Who might I contact? These were mostly recorded from WNEW FM and WLIR in the NY area.
I’m sorry, but this is very sad, why you don’t give it another chance. I think the forums is great add.
So what would be the best way to make suggestions or submit ideas? Also, I was wondering if it would be possible to have some sort of release calendar for future vault additions?
Chris,
The best way to submit suggestions and ideas is via our Contact Us page.
Regarding new releases, we cover them a couple of ways. There’s a “Recently Added” link in the left column that always lists concerts added in the most recent 4 weeks, and we always announce new releases in our newsletter as well.
I’m with Ben on the 96kbps streaming quality. It’s too low quality and I have stopped sampling shows altogether or recommending the Vault to friends. But i know you have a business model to satisfy — we all gotta eat. Maybe I’ll have the cash after this damn Depression is over. But hey, it was great while it lasted. I’ll be watching for the Coupon Day offers.
Love the Vault, the audio quality sounds pretty good to me. I still intend to subscribe, as soon as i get the $$. Please keep the political comments to appropriate forums.
Anyone remember The Young Rascals playing live at The Phone Booth in New York City. I was there. Can’t find it in Wolfgang’s Vault….
I dig this site! I rarely post except when there are new concerts made available. Yet when I start listening and commenting, I lose time! It is easy to get addicted to this site; I mean, hell, the best music ever created was made during the period of one promoter with a passion for getting the music to the people! Bill Graham, the artists he contracted with, and his arenas we came to, gave a level of respect to our generation
and the music being made that very few indulged in! Graham made all of the gifted, legendary and extremely talented musicians between 1966 and 1974 available to us! Betts said “Bill Graham was the cornerstone of that era’s music”, and now we have an oppurtunity to go 30-40 years back to when the best music in the world was being made, because this gentleman acquired it and almost immediately made it available to the public! So if you have no appreciation for “Wolfgang’s Vault”, go learn; get yourself educated. There is a biography of Bill, there are many, many books, and films that I’m sure will enlighten. I get caught up in this site to the point that my inbox is running over! Just get this music in your soul somehow, and you won’t have any time for complaining!
Take care, Ricky McDermon
Kudos to RMcDins’ comments. Bill Graham was and IS a giant. He gave us and the Artists a venue that has NEVER been reproduced nor ever will be. WV is a testament, a venue, a history of when Music was Music for the sake of Music. The days are gone, but we have here a glimpse into what was, and ever should be.
I cannot believe the ungratefull BRATS responding to the Forum closing or Paying $4 a month for faster service! Before Wolfgangs I had only fantisized about live: J. Beck ‘68, 75′, early Steve miller, Faces’, 73′ 78′ Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, Henry Gross, Joe Walsh and Barnstorm, Crazy Neil Y. Neil and Bob, EC and the Dominoes, Steve Stills, Frank Z….I could go on forever.
Thank you Wolfgang people and screw the spoiled critics that don’t understand business…..
Thanks for the rant,
Will from Augusta,Ga. (non-member b/cause of unemplyment)
I like wolfgangs for sharing such a great entertainment to us. And I hope to record all the concert with screen recorder (http://bit.ly/11NmnY). I think that’s the best way to show my appreciate to you.
Looks like I got here a day or two too late, I have a huge respect for music fans who enjoy turning off the television and getting your groove on. I did’nt get the chance to maybe see if there were any other concert goers been to the same shows as me. Oh well, thanks Mr. Graham, the live music you provide on here, is remarkable. I actually heard a show I’d been too. Cool.
Although I do understand I can comment on certain performances, yes. The forum holds a bit more intimacy.
Is there a possibility we might hear The Allman Joys or The Hour Glass?
I’d love to hear what the pre-Allman Brothers sound was. Reading tells me that they were very good live, although their studio recordings are stilted.

Well, I went to the help page which directed me to the forum for an answer.
I click on a song title. I get a popup with a Wolfgang’s Vault advertisement and a box marked Add Comment. No sign of a music player. I have Javascript enabled. Now what?
I love this site- BUT- I ain’t a stone dummy, but so much of the time nobody really starts at square one andsays “Here’s how to download this concert file that looks interesting, or here’s how to convert it to a CD you can put in your car, or here’s what embed means or here’s how to figure out which files need to be paid for and which are free, etc etc. Now I’m just informed enought to snag files offa blogs and put them on CDs via Nero- I do that alla time. I can even convert from FLAC to .WAV (with another app called Reaper)- ain’t I a pip? But approaching the Wolfgang site I couldn’t figure out how to download a concert to save my ass. Could someone start at square one for some of us non-techie types? I for one would love you for it. (wavin’ the Bloomfield and Peter Green flags!!)
continues it.
better n best for a future.
I got the list of new downloads this morning (dated yesterday) showing the Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac download for $4. Great! I immediately tried to order it, but it wanted to charge me $9.98. Still a good price…but not $4. Since my receipt of the email was delayed, I think I should get the better price. How can I reach someone at WV to see if they’ll honor their offer?
Hi -
Are there any plans on making both of these weird al concerts available to purchase in flac in the future? It would be really nice to offer these shows up. I can really appreciate that you are making so many olf fillmore shows available, but we could use more later recordings like thee available as well. These were recorded for the King biscuit hour, and it makes more sense to the performer to make them available to purchase since everyone can already play them for free. 96 kbps isn’t very enjoyable quality when flac file could be available for $10 a show would put some money in the artists pockets.
Thanks! -
Greetings
All of sudden I can’t get by the name and password page. After filling in, it
keeps coming back and repeating itself. I’ve checked cookies and made sure
the ID was correct.
If anyone can think of anything else I’d sure appreciate it because I can’t even
get into my vault.
Thanks
Hi Ed,
check your browser’s AutoFill settings. It may be substituting a bad password in that you typo’ed once, even if it looks like it’s putting the right one in.
If you still need help visit our Contact Us page (link at the bottom of any page).
