Cracking the Vault Day – November 3rd

Three cheers for Crackin' the VaultNovember 3rd is a big day for us here at the Vault. We have been plowing through the archives over the past few months to prepare a huge release of new downloads featuring concerts from many of your favorite bands. A number of these have been on the site for free streaming and others will be brand new additions. To give you a sense of the numbers, we currently have 389 concerts on the site that you can download. This number will increase to over 700 on the 3rd. This means more of The Grateful Dead, more Santana, more Stevie Ray Vaughan, more Miles Davis, and dozens of others. We have had requests for many of these shows over the last couple of years and we’re thrilled to make them available.

For you audiophiles out there, some exciting news to add -  every show we offer for download will be availble on the 3rd in lossless FLAC in addition to our standard 256k MP3. You may have noticed we started doing this with our more recent downloads and we are going back and re-encoding everything in both formats.

Here’s our theme song for the day:

As always, we love your feedback and input.

Cheers!

Can’t wait for November 3rd just to see if you’re adding any Lee Michaels, Mahogany Rush, or Spirit or Marshall Tucker Band…
Thanks again for all these great shows, Peace, Ben Upham

without going thru all 2000 or more shows to find out exactly which ones are free for the downloading it would be nice that the free ones are all put into one list.

Is there any Santana / Mclaughlin *video* from May? ‘73? Screenshots that circulate suggest that one concert by the ‘Love, Devotion, Surrender’ band with Billy Cobham, Carlos Santana & John Mclaughlin was videoed. If WV can confirm it’s existence would be good.. many thanks all the releases! , AC

I’m excited about Nov 3. Been following the Vault’s evolution since February of 2006.

Please provide a way to know what is truly new. “Featured” is Ok, but as the quantity of shows has exploded, I’d like a way to know what is brand new. I was checking out almost every new show but now the only way to be sure is to look at a show’s comments and see if there are any old ones. Don’t want to go back to making my own spreadsheet like I did in ‘06.

Thanks for all you’re doing to to rock the world.

Did Wolfman Jack ever record his program? He was a unique DJ that was fun to listen to. If there are archives of his shows, you should get them on the Vault.

which reminded me of the 1971 show at the Filllmore East. My best friend and I begged her older sister to buy us tickets to the late show – but she didn’t comply and we wound up at the early show. I remember Zappa jumping up and down with his guitar on and conducting the band at the same time. We found out later that Lennon showed up at the late show …
