Concert Summary

After the Never Say Die album and tour, which ran between 1978 and 1979, Black Sabbath could no longer effectively function with the overt drug and alcohol dependency of their lead singer, Ozzy Osbourne. They fired him, and he went on to develop what would become a hugely successful solo career with the help of his future wife, Sharon Arden (daughter of Sabbath's manager, Don Arden.) Saw the black and blue show at the Milwaukee Arena. BOC did their thing, not bad but we were there for BS, unfortunately some idiot threw a bottle at geezer and Dio stopped the show and told everyone what had happen and Sab split. I think we got Neon Nights and War Pigs, during which the bottle happened. So we did the riot thing, overturning wooden chairs that were connected by about 10 and lit em up. Yeah the drugged out shit 18 year olds do. The next day Mayer brier, an old school old time prick said "no more rock shows in Milwaukee!!" well that didn't take but funny looking back. I remember some over zealous young pig smaking my bro in the face, fuckin dick head. Now my sons father in law was a cop at that show. How wierd.

I never knew dio sang war pigs??? Wow. I admit I did love the Heaven and hell tour and I did see the black sabbath tours with dio have some pictures. To me dio singing war pigs is a disgrace glad they didn't continue. also loved dio solo stuff but ozzy rules even though dio has a more powerful voice-- again ozzy rules..... just my thoughts

one of the very worst concerts i ever saw was the NEVER SAY DIE tour (with a sloppy young opening act by the name of VAN HALEN). 2 years later, i saw the sab's with dio, on the HEAVEN AND HELL tour, and it was a true revelation. to this day, i cant listen to the ozzy years anymore

Sorry to break the news to you guys, but I was at this show, and still have the ticket stub! You are correct in that it was a triple bill and was part of the "Black and Blue" tour, with Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster cult, but the 3rd band was not Riot.... it was Shakin Street. (I still have the stub to prove it). CLASSIC show... shakin street was shakey lol, but Black and Blue were both SMOKIN!
