When this harmonica playing, guitar-strumming, ballad-singing Minnesota poet migrated to New York City in 1960, he became an instant favorite on the Greenwich Village coffee house scene. Drawn to the music of Woody Guthrie and genuine in his distaste for war, dishonesty, and political scheming, Dylan soon established himself as an introspective folk singer.
