Concert Summary

Following disillusionment over the lack of success and the subsequent 1968 breakup of the great British Invasion band, the Zombies, keyboardist Rod Argent and songwriter/guitarist Russ Ballard teamed up to form the progressive rock group Argent. As luck would have it, the Zombies' final single, "Time of the Season," had just been released in America and became a monumental hit. Reaching sales of nearly two million, and charting at #1 in Cashbox and #2 in Billboard, it soon became an international blockbuster. Naturally, this translated into huge record company pressure to reform the Zombies…entire summary

fairly decent concert...never really listened to them before. oh: in "Hold Your Head Up" that's "Yankee Doodle Dandy" just before "Star Bangled Banner" and "America the Beautiful". Guess it's a medley for an American audience!

Fab concert, last saw Rod playing the Lowery in Manchester back as the Zombies, the intro to God Gave Rock & Roll To You needed but one cord for the audience to go wild, same with Hold Your Head Up, fantastic to still be able to hear them live, Jim Romford adds to the brilliance.
I Don't Believe In Miracles sung by the GREAT Colin Blunstone awesome, they tour the USA and UK and Europe catch them soon.

Never did get to see Argent but love the album Nexus: it's an hour very well spent, crowning glory being the beautiful Man For All Reasons. Great to find this archive.......a rock fan's dream come true!
