Formed in 1984 by the Robinson brothers, Chris and Rich, and committed to producing a rebel art form shared but not undermined by the 'suits' and the self-anointed culture police, the band can push the envelope. "Shake Your Money Maker" was the band's 1990 debut album. Dropped from a 1993 ZZ Top arena-tour after questioning the role of corporate sponsorship, the band's 1994 "Amorica" offended many with its theme and vaguely unpatriotic album cover: a model scantily clad in an American flag G-string. The Crowes even managed to offend the retail industry when they distributed their 2000 release, "Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes Live at the Greek", exclusively online.
