Formed in Florida in 1969 by brothers Duane and Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks and Jaimoe, the Allman Brothers' breakthrough came in 1971 with double album "Live at the Fillmore East." Losing Duane [1971] and bassist Oakley [1972] in fatal motorcycle accidents, the band managed to release a long list of successful albums and singles with changing personnel, but disbanded in 1982. In the spotlight again by 1989, the Brothers stormed center stage with 1990 comeback album, Seven Turns.
