They made their first appearance there as a last-minute replacement in 1967. Led by blues guitarist Carlos Santana, the original lineup included vocalist Gregg Rolie, bassist David Brown, drummer Bob Livingston, percussionist Chepito Areas and Michael Carabello on congas.
