Named after American horror/fiction writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937), H.P. Lovecraft was a psychedelic group of the late 1960s. The band released two albums, one in '67 and another in '68, and two additional albums were released under the name Lovecraft. Their sound has been called everything from hazy "gothic psychedelic" rock to garage folk and was certainly imaginative.
