Bonnie Raitt has come a long way since her days in the late 1960s as a Harvard student immersed in political activism. A fan of blues and folk, Raitt and her slide guitar found the time to find their way into coffeehouses in between classes. Leaving college after three years to pursue her muse, Raitt was soon opening for blues giants like Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Sippie Wallace. The soulful red-head recorded a handful of albums throughout the '70s but hit a career high point with albums Nick of Time and Luck of the Draw in the early '90s. Her rebirth as a music powerhouse in the '90s would produce eight Grammys and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by the year 2000....less
