Concert Summary

Formed in 1970, the Southern California band Ambrosia was first recognized by Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor Zubin Mehta, who featured them in part of his All-American Dream Concert the following year. Their music was one of the back drops for me during High School in the early to mid 70's. I use to be a runner and "Holding on to Yesterday" would run through my mind when I worked out.

Great group, saw them open for The Beach Boys in Pittsburgh many years ago and they blew them off the stage!!!!

early 1970's...........I was sitting in my friends backyard,......summertime.....warm....a couple (or more) "brown pops", listening to our favourite F.M. radio, when I heard to "Holdin on to Yesterday". My friend jumped out of his chair and screamed, " hey !! someone is using your favourite catch-phrase", and it sounds INCREDIBLE ! We were immediately fans ! Not to say we weren't before. Just seemed like this one had us hooked. Compared to todays ....er..stuff, this music is absolutely brilliant! The music just seems to make the memories so real.

A band that had some very cool early albums. Two really good singers. This concert is painful to listen to. To say it doesn't showcase their true talent is a huge understatement. Skip this one.
