saw basically the same lineup in cleveland a couple weeks prior (world series of rock it was billed as) with the fabulous addition of thin lizzy and journey. thin lizzy and ac-dc took top honors that day imo. still great stuff from the bad boys from boston. these huge shows were just a reason to get stoned to the ba-jesus with your friends - not the most intimate of musical settings...

Guitars on the studio version of Train Kept A' Rollin' were played by Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter.

My first concert ever was when they played here in Oakland in 1978 with AC/DC and Mahogany Rush. I was at this show too and so glad to see this footage!!!! Any other footage from these shows? Thank you!!!

I saw them in 75 and 76. by this time they were too drugged out to play well. luckily they got it together. i took my 15year old to see them last summer and they sounded great. sober

Yeah, I was there. These vids are great - I had forgotten the ridiculous jungle set that Bill G threw up for this thing. And, yeah, it was $12.50. Does anyone remember that the first band of the day was "Saint Paradise", fronted by ex-Nugent band members Derek St. Holmes and Rob Grange? I remember about 2,000 gallons of water dumped on their gear from a tarp. I also remember some nut climbing up the left field foul pole during the day. jeez, what a day - I was 14.

One of the worst headling bands of the era imo. They always sounded terrible. Joe can't come close to playing the solo Steve Hunter played on studio version of "Train Kept A' rollin"

I saw them the previous summer in Chicago with Foreigner, AC/DC, and Mahogany Rush. By far, they were the worst on the bill. They were horrible! Foreigner and AC/DC blew them off the stage.

I saw them a couple of times in the mid seventies (L.A Forum, Long Beach Arena and Cal Jam 2) they always put on a good show. I still think Get Your Wings is their best album...

I was 15 and saw this concert...it was definitely $12.50. I could've sworn Joe fell and broke his arm at this concert!? Maybe the effects of the cloud had me! Nugent was the headliner...he was huge in Cal at this time. Great to see Bon Scott before he died 7 months later.

I was Aeros security then and yes this was the last show with Joe for a few years. Nobody could touch this band in their prime and few still can!

So I was 15 at this gig and anyone who was there remember it rained. So we went up to the seats to get some cover from the upper deck. I end up sitting next to this dude that kept telling me to keep taking hits off some chamber pipe until he thought I had taken a impressive enough hit. Needless to say, I was pretty baked.

This show is hot.I saw them 2 weeks before in Atlanta . Yes it was about to all come apart but this video proves they could still lay it down. Compare this show to the footage of Texas Jam 78 or Cal jam 78 , this is much better. A.K.

I was there! My first rock concert, I still have my ticket stub with a price of $12.50 on it. I also still have my Monsters of Rock t-shirt.

A mere WEEKS before the departure of Joe. The unhappiness amongst them is SO obvious. Joey seems to be the only one enjoying it.

Was there at age 19;...AC/DC, Aerosmith,Frank Marino and Ted Nuget for $27.50 ticket price,,,Yes kids,I said $27.50. Aerosmiths' Live Bootleg album approximates their sound during this time period.
