  • EddieSF Wednesday, May 02, 2012 1:46 pm Was here and when I stumbled on Wolfgang's Vault, I never thought I'd relive these amazing days gone by. My first DOTG was September 2, 1978...still bummed to have missed Zeppelin the year before...
  • BUNWA Monday, April 16, 2012 8:08 am Great show!!!! Bon Scott was the perfect singer for this band... great voice & attitude. I saw ac/dc 2 months earlier in Louisville,Ky.on 5/17...they opened for UFO...great show even though Bon was pretty messed up Thanks Bill
  • greenninja5150 Wednesday, April 11, 2012 2:25 pm @knotagirl I thought that the Black Ice tour at SJ was the best yet...
  • surf69 Wednesday, April 11, 2012 12:03 pm i was there too,,,can't remember mohogany rush
  • TobiasFunke Wednesday, April 11, 2012 6:27 am @knotagirl YOU ARE RIGHT ON, Aerosmith sucked bad that day. AC/DC and Ted Nugent ruled the day. I miss the Day On the Greens
  • knotagirl Tuesday, March 06, 2012 4:24 pm I was there too and remember it well ..The billing from opener to headline was St Paradise...Mahogany Rush...AC DC..Aerosmith {who sucked the life out of the stadium} And Ted nugent.. Seen these guys 6 times..Prefer Bon by a bit,but best show was Back in Black tour in 80 early 81 at Cow Palace thanks for the post ,
  • scrapmetal Monday, October 24, 2011 5:29 pm We just don't have shows like this in the US anymore, the last decent day on the Green in Oakland featured Metallica on the Black tour. After seeing Aerosmiths drugged out performance on the same day,its easy to see why no one wanted to open for the Aussie terrors.Just listen to the screams from the stadium audience; the girls for a tru manly frontman Bon scott and the guys for the whirling dervish known as Angus Young-who amazingly still brings it on stage to this day.The Highway to Hell album to me was one of the late 70's most powerful releases, along with VH1 which heralded the dawn of Heavy Metal which would take over the 80's musical decade.
  • Anonymous Friday, October 14, 2011 10:15 am i remember buying Highway to Hell and never Mind the Bollocks on the same day back in '79. played the shit out of both and still have 'em to remind myself what a great time it was for rock and roll. shows were cheap, had red hot line-ups and there was a great one every month somewhere. none of these guys is a world class musician but together they BURNED DOWN THE HOUSE! i regret that i never got to see this line-up, i prefer bon just a tad over brian
  • scottyz Friday, October 14, 2011 2:05 am wow, that was my first concert!!I remember it was all cold and rainy all night partyin before the show, then bon comes out with no shirt and alla suden the sun comes out...Frank Marino and mahoghany rush were there too...what a memory, thank u

  • Anonymous Wednesday, July 27, 2011 11:30 am bon scott is the rockingest sum bitch ever
  • Stinby's Hope Wednesday, July 27, 2011 6:57 am The camera work is so bad! I ran camera at rock and roll events in 1979, and I cannot believe the lack of attention. The coverage is appalling. Oh well ....
  • Anonymous Saturday, July 23, 2011 10:43 am I was at this show ac/dc hands down stold the show. I rembered the show started at 10am. People were partying at the stadium at 6am. there were people passed out in line waiten to get in
  • Anonymous Friday, July 22, 2011 10:21 pm you see the part where the dude makes that chick get off that guy's shoulders because she's blocking the camera, ...what a dick. (32 years later)
  • Anonymous Friday, July 22, 2011 9:56 pm Let's all say it together 'thank you bill'
  • Anonymous Wednesday, July 20, 2011 11:18 pm AC/DC with Bon Scott ....are adrenaline pure ! Edu Malpi

  • Anonymous Tuesday, July 19, 2011 8:16 am I'm pretty sure Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush opened this show. AC/DC played after them. Both bands kicked ass.
  • Anonymous Tuesday, July 19, 2011 7:59 am Oh wow! I was at this show! My first concert -- absolutely blew me away. I remember Bon Scott mentioning their new album "Highway to Hell" coming out and then they played the title track. I can't believe I'm seeing this again. What a memory!
  • stringmethod Tuesday, July 05, 2011 4:57 pm Yeah I was here, AC/DC __ BON !!(in my opinion) took the show from Aerosmith & Ted Nugent....@ Jeff Jones... It's been a long time, Mohagony Rush "Frank Morino" was on this Bill ???
  • Schnydes Monday, July 04, 2011 7:00 am Legendary, Raw, Real, Ass-Kick from the early 70's when they blew Foreigner off the headline stage to the Black Ice Tour....That's gettin' it right!!!!! Snydley & King
  • Stig O'Tracy Wednesday, May 11, 2011 9:56 pm Not sure if I was at this one or not. I do remember Angus going out into the crowd on Bon's shoulders doing a 5 minute solo, everyone was going "WTF?" as remotes were pretty new. Crazy. Everyone just getting ripped in the lot beforehand. Crazy.
  • Chris71 Wednesday, May 04, 2011 12:03 am During ROCKER notice at 6:05 the black guy yelling at the dude to put the chick down cause she's blocking the camera. Now,I know the dude was working for Graham, but what would happen if a white guy was working security at a concert with 60,000 black people and he went out and told a black dude to put the chick down? LOL! Let's just say it wouldn't be pretty.
  • Chris71 Tuesday, May 03, 2011 11:49 pm C'mon! Why did they edit Angus' strip tease? It's funny!
  • Chris71 Tuesday, May 03, 2011 11:28 pm SWEET CHRIST ALMIGHTY. I've seen a lot of AC/DC vid's,but never THIS one!
  • Anonymous Monday, May 02, 2011 3:19 pm Holy Shit....AC/DC for EVER
  • jeffreyjones Monday, May 02, 2011 1:38 am I was there also at age 19;...Two years after the mighty Zeppelin gave their final North American performance at this stadium...True enough,AC/DC tore it up,but just after them some guy named Frank Marino blew every performer there completely away. This was the first concert I ever saw with the guitarists using transmitters instead of chords.Marino also went into the crowd on an extended solo.I wish todays kids had these type of performers to enjoy.
  • sofingraw Friday, April 29, 2011 11:16 am Track 6 is 'Rocker' (Incomplete), I believe.

  • johnnimac Thursday, April 28, 2011 8:54 am I was at this show as a 17yr.old. Sure, Aerosmith was ready to implode, but the show was over the top and I still remember the guy climbing to the top of the foul ball pole and waiving his fist. Long live rock and roll
  • Mighty Slim Thursday, April 28, 2011 5:52 am This makes the Aerosmith from the same show like an elementary school band. Long Live Bon Scott!!!
  • VentilatorBlues Thursday, April 28, 2011 1:52 am Bon Scott, bulge and all!
