I was given the entire concert on VHS from a good friend of mine. I'm suprised it was never made into a video for the general public. The recording is OK but what is covered is magic. Boy do I miss BGP and places like Winterland. God Bless Bill!!!!

Performers that day in Golden Gate Park at "The Bill Graham Wake": The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Joe Satriani, Aaron Neville, Bobby McPherin, Journey, Santana/Los Lobos/Santana, Tracy Chapman, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Robin Williams, Jackson Brown, The Grateful Dead, John Fogerty backed by The Dead, Neil Young backed by The Dead, Joan Baez. A restored white double prop airplane flew low and slow over the crowd in the polo field dropping flowers numerous times. There was an alter with Bill Graham's picture where people put incense, flowers, stones, jewelry, gods eyes, ect. David Graham, Bill's son, talked about his dad and Bill Graham Productions future to start the wake/show. Bill Walton was in attendance as well. I will never ever forget that vivid day having to say good by to such a mover and shaker in the music business who was about to put a stop to the continuing ruthlessness of Ticketmaster. God bless Bill Graham who produced great concerts I attended many times over many years in many venues in many California citys and suburbs. I could never sneak into a Bill Graham show, the security was always superb except when Peter Grant beat up Bill's right hand man for nothing in Oakland. Bill tried to put Jerry Garcia's guitar back together one night when it got dropped on the stage and Jerry was to stoned to fix it. That is the kind of guy Bill Graham was. One night I was stoned trying to adjust the sound of Barry Melton's amplifier at The Carousel. Bill tapped me on the shoulder, saw I was stoned, realizing that I shouldn't be messing with Barry's amp, and led me back into the crowd to keep grooving. That is the real Bill Graham people. He was a very good man!
